I am amazed, when i listened carefully, at other people who spoke so fluently at face2face interviews. It seemed like they have so much content that they want to communicate with others. If it had been me, I would just repeat a single point several times; I do not have the ability to grab so much materials from my head as I speak.
Written language must be different from spoken ones. Firstly, because the audience cannot refer back to the previous sentence, each word chosen must be simple, common and to the point. Also the sentence structure and paragraph structure must be simple and flow smoothly for the point to be understood immediately.

On navigating in the night
Spending time alone is not easy.
It is like a solitary ship navigating in the dark night, and the next lighthouse is the only thing you can look forward to.
Made a few goal/targets to be done. In between, at a loss of what to do.

I briefly entertained the idea of becoming a physiotherapist but this particular thought passed away on the very day it was born. I am not adverse to the career per se, but looking at the salary deflated my idealism and I realized that 4 years in OZ will destroy my social life for good.
The debate about foreign workers in Singapore has been going on for quite some time. The battleline seemed to be drawn: high-flying government official on one side and broken-english-speaking, whiny netizen on the other.
Despite the proponents' best effort, I still do not see how introduction of foreign talent actually benefited ordinary Singaporean. Their entry into Singapore depressed our wage level and thus workers who do not have good qualifications experienced lower real income. The ~6% annual GDP growth is rather 'paper', seeing that the extra income accrue to businessman who benefit from lower operating cost and from the income of the new citizens/PR. Middle/lower income group do not experience the same increase in wage. Had new citizens not entered at such a high rate, perhaps we won't publish such high GDP numbers but the existing citizens will not be much worse off from now.

the blues
An entire day of day-dreaming, time-watching, contemplating...
Almost ZERO interaction with human being.
This is the type of day that I hope I will encounter as (un)often as a shooting star through the course of this life.

coming to an end
Next week's going to be the last week working for the office. After that, I'll have to seek other employment opportunities, to earn money to learn and to structure my life.
I'll try to apply for teaching position and hopefully I can land myself one. Not that I'm especially serious about the sudden and short-lived streak of aspiration to be an educator, but being a teacher is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity(for most ppl and for me i guess) and it might be interesting.
